Our new podcast heads to the Chicago Podcast Festival, with actors including Kirsten Vangsness (Criminal Minds), Justin Kirk (Weeds), K. Todd Freeman (The Dark Knight), Peter Sagal (Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers) and host Kevin Townley, to perform humorous and saucy stories that, due to language issues or content advisories are, well, too hot for radio.

We'll take some of our favorite daring fiction and bring all the steam, gore, and uncensored scenes to the good people of Chicago. Old fiction, new fiction ...we’re paging through all of it for the juiciest stories, and assembling a cast that will really dig into the joy of a racy read!

About Selected Shorts: Too Hot for Radio

Over the years, Selected Shorts has recorded amazing stories that due to language issues or content advisories were, well, too hot for radio. For the podcast we’ve gone into the vault, selected some of the best of these recordings, and created this new spinoff.

It’s Selected Shorts: Too Hot For Radio. Each episode centers around one story, whether it’s 5 minutes or 45 and will feature commentary and special guests. The show is hosted by comedian Aparna Nancherla. We’ll be releasing one show every other week with our partner Panoply. Initial shows feature stories by Stephen King, Simon Rich, Hilary Mantel, and Chuck Palahniuk.
